Louisiana Opal * Sterling Silver * Lg 8" Cuff * Cicada Twilight

Louisiana Opal * Sterling Silver * Lg 8" Cuff * Cicada Twilight

This one of a kind, large 8" cuff bracelet is entirely handmade with genuine .925 sterling silver sheet metal & wire, and features a rare firey piece of Louisiana Opal that displays bright flashes of green and suttle hints of red when tilded into the light! This opal piece has been heat treated to bring out brighter, more brilliant flashes of color!

Custom hammered cicada stamp-work derived from vintage cicada lithographs.

The back is stamped with official .925 sterling and Haunted Cypress makers mark.

Every piece in the cicada twilight collection has been made with southern childhood nostalgia in mind, the moment when the sun begins to set and the cicadas come out to sing, signaling the end of a long day of playing in the sun, whether it be catching minnows in the ditch, downing spearmint cold-cups, or playing hide and seek with the neighbor kids, you just know the day is at its end and the time has come to rest!

Some may associate the cicada song with the unforgiving heat of the south, but during the twilight hours as the sun makes way for the moon, these songs help me sense the day’s end and gives me tremendous comfort, reminding me to take it easy, the moon is on it’s way and it’s time to unwind!

With a dash of le joie de vivre, this bracelet was made to spread soul healing, joyous feels to whoever may wear it. Simply wrap this bracelet around your wrist and carry the magic of the South wherever you go!

LOUISIANA OPAL: The Louisiana sandstone opal is one of the rarest varieties of opal in the world. It was mined briefly in the Catahoula Formation in Leesville (Vernon Parish) South West Louisiana in the late 1980’s- the early 1990’s. The mine is now located on private property and has been reportedly “mined out” and covered up.

*PLEASE NOTE: The Louisiana opal is a very delicate sand stone and must be worn with care, try your best never to drop them and never wear LA opals during strenuous activities that may cause the stone to crack.

Sterling Bezel Piece: Approx. 2” wide from cicada to cicada.

Opal Stone: Approx. 1" X 0.75"

Cuff- metal band is 7” long with a 1” gap to insert wrist. (So 8” all together, which is considered large)

*Pro Tip: To prevent wear and tear on the bracelet cuff, find your “sweet spot” the first time you wear it so that it can be slipped on and off without bending the metal every time. Too much bending of the band will harden the metal and it will eventually break as a result.

  • STERLING SILVER CARE

*STORAGE: While not being worn, it's best to store your silver jewelry at room

temperature in a dark space, preferably in an airtight bag. Avoid direct sunlight and

humidity, do not leave in a car or on a windowsill. If your piece does get wet, dry it

    off immediately.

*WEARING: -Never submerge your silver jewelry in water. Some tap water may contain sulfur which will discolor the metal. While wearing, avoid contact with hairspray, perfumes, or lotions to prevent damage or discoloration. Never go to bed while wearing your jewelry.

Gemstones (Especially Louisiana Opals) can be very delicate and should never be worn during strenuous activities to avoid damage to the stone. Dropping gemstones and glass cabs will likely result in damage to the piece, so be kind to your jewelry and wear with care!

*MAINTENANCE: Sterling Silver may tarnish over time, to keep your sterling piece looking new, gently rub with a soft cotton polishing cloth until shine is restored. Doing this regularly will prevent tarnish altogether. The use of liquid chemical jewelry cleaner is highly discouraged.
